Another firefox loving post. we know firefox is most tweaky browser yet seen.
following are few properties to be set to speed up the firefox.
to enter firefox configuration panel enter about:config in addressbar.
lots of properties are shown. find the following properties and set them. if any property name is missing simply right click and select New and specified type. Rename it as specified, and set the value.
type ---> property name---> value to be set
bool--->"network.http.pipelining"---->true
bool--->"network.http.proxy.pipelining"--->true
integer--->"network.http.pipelining.maxrequests"-->8
integer--->"network.http.max-connections"---->48
integer--->"network.http.max-connections-per-server"--->16
integer--->"network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy"--->16
integer--->"network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server"--->8
integer--->"content.notify.backoffcount"--->5
interger--->"content.max.tokenizing.time"---->2250000
integer--->"content.notify.interval"--->750000
integer--->"content.switch.threshold"--->750000
bool--->"content.notify.ontimer"--->true
bool--->"content.interrupt.parsing"--->true

A lot of hosts will probably love you for spreading the word of pipelining ;). In essence it makes things faster, but the moment more and more begin using it that effect will be lost seeing as to how the servers simply won't be able to handle the multiplication of requests.
Handy to speed things up, but a good thing it's not on by default ;).
Just a note though, some servers have disabled the pipelining functionality because of that reason, this would result in pages loading very slowly when you drop by one. So if a page suddenly loads terribly slow without reason it might be due to the pipelining being on.
Hmmm. based on slevi's comments, I think I'll leave the settings as is. I can live with waiting half a second.
btw. Thanks for submitting to my DoFollow Search Engine. You've been added :)
